From 1969 to 1983 college and university students actively participated in and managed Student Health Coalition (SHC) projects in communities across the mid-South. Initially, SHC participants were medical students and nursing students mentored by faculty from their schools. Very shortly, however, Coalition participation grew to include law students and undergrad liberal arts students working with community members. Community leaders were important in early projects and played an increasingly critical role as projects matured.
This section of the archive includes biographical and autobiographical remembrances in both written stories and video interviews from Coalition participants.
